You will work on a variety of projects including business websites, landing pages, ecommerce platforms, and custom WordPress solutions. The role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with designers, SEO specialists, and project managers.
This is a flexible remote role available to candidates based in the United Kingdom or professionals able to work within UK business hours.
Role Overview
As a WordPress Developer at Prime Lion Digital, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimising WordPress websites for clients across multiple sectors. You will transform design concepts into responsive websites while ensuring strong performance, usability, and SEO-friendly structure.
You should be comfortable working with custom functionality, theme development, plugin integration, website optimisation, and ongoing maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Build WordPress websites from design files and project specifications
- Customise WordPress themes and plugins
- Develop responsive and mobile-friendly layouts
- Implement SEO-friendly website structure and best practices
- Optimise website speed, Core Web Vitals, and overall performance
- Fix bugs, technical issues, and compatibility problems
- Integrate third-party tools, APIs, and marketing platforms
- Set up and customise WooCommerce stores when required
- Maintain and update existing WordPress websites
- Collaborate with designers, SEO specialists, and project managers
- Ensure websites are secure, stable, and scalable
Requirements
- Commercial experience with WordPress development
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
- Experience with WordPress themes, plugins, and custom functionality
- Experience using page builders such as Elementor, WPBakery, or similar
- Understanding of responsive and mobile-first design
- Experience with WooCommerce development and configuration
- Knowledge of website performance optimisation techniques
- Familiarity with technical SEO best practices
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
- Good problem-solving and debugging skills
- Fluent English communication skills
